Closure Poem by grace mariner

Closure

Will you slip away from me without a trace?
Will your other life call you and persuade you to leave me without hesitation?
Being a gentleman to the end, I know you would tell me, saying goodbye with that familiar ' see ya ' of yours.
Closure is so important don't you agree?
How can something with this intensity, that burns so hot and bright, end with such a casual dismissal?
I have no words that could explain such a thing.
But honesty has always been your strong suit when you play with me.
That and endurance.
Being pretty honest myself I will tell you that closure denotes the end.
It is the death throes. the Omega, the final exit.
Close the book.
Close the door.
Place the pennies on the closed eyes.
It is done.
I will be done.
Will you slip away from me without a trace?
Will death call you and persuade you to leave without choice?
No time for hesitation.
No time for ' see ya'
There will be no closure, which is so important, don't you agree?
And honesty has nothing and everything to do with it
because we existed in shadows, burning brightly but only for each other to see.
But still...
the door will close...
the chapter done...
the pennies on the closed eyes lay silent.
