Colors Of Suppression Poem by grace mariner

Colors Of Suppression

Pick up your brushes class.
We will now paint a picture of our life.
We only offer sweet pastel hues of pink and purple,
green and yellow.
These are the colors of life that everyone wants to see,
reminding us of cotton candy, unicorns, teddy bears and lollipops.
Do not offend anyone with darkness or stark hues.
Life is always fun!
Life is always happy!
Life is always sweet!
There is no red for rage, no blue for sadness, no black for loss.
That is against our rules dear artist!
Oh you can paint it, but it will never be seen.
We won't allow it.
