Cloud Poem by Mary Angela Douglas

Cloud

walking on infinite waters I sink down

lost like Peter but unable to make a sound

what is this fresh trauma of wind and rains

that mars my vision of You oh Christ again

so that I faint in this oppressive hour

riddled and riddled again by sneering power,

the belittling.

catch me up lightly for I would be thy cloud

floating above the vindictive and the proud

knowing to Whom my dreamfilled head is bowed.
