Coattails Of Hope - Poem by Gordon D Wilkinson

In the wilderness of indecision
Hearts search for a home
Looking for a soul to claim
Many blind alleyways found
Some roads going round in circles
Going nowhere
Coming from everywhere
Stumbling blindly forwards
Eyes covered by promises blindfold
Lumps and grazes taken on the way
Pieces lost
Bruised and torn
Needing at times to rest and repair
Reflecting on the failures
Optimistic of the future
Finding the strength to continue
Pursuing the dream
Pushing to the point of breaking
Clinging to the coattails of hope
