Code Of Silence Poem by June FeirCruz

Code Of Silence

Rating: 4.8

For years I have been silent
I hold a beautiful secret you and I share
For years I have no expectations from you
Not your love, not your hand to hold unto

Just to know where you are was enough
You are near, yet so far
And far, yet so near
It didn't matter, you are always where you should be:
In a peaceful corner of my heart

These days I am running out of options
My back is against the wall
Though fate has been kind
Mother of fortune has not been

I come in humility to you, and understanding I have asked
Not wanting to disrupt your charmed existence
Just hoping your heart would beat for us, more than once

I lay awake at nights holding back my tears
For I have come so far and yet here I am now
Why am I begging for something?
That should have been mine on the first place

This enigmatic piece has a quality that will draw me back to it again and again. I think I shall find something new in it each time. Thank you June.

You have a great style of writing. A secret love that may/may not be aware that it exists. Again, concise and moving words.
