Coffee With A Friend Poem by Randy McClave

The other night I had coffee with a friend
At a cafe he did recommend,
In life he asked me how did I do
As I was having a spiritual interview.
This I then to him did proudly say
Unto the Lord my God I constantly still pray,
My love for him is greater than any country or nation
He is my only salvation.
My soul has been saved
That road to my salvation has been paved,
I always adhere to the pastor's preachings
And I always follow the Lord's teachings.
I do not hate, bully, falsely accuse or judge
I do not lie, cheat, steal, con, or drag anyone through the sludge,
The teachings of my Lord I will always obey
As in the New Testament he did say.
Still for his forgiveness I still ask the Lord
As I make mistakes and he forgives with love and not the sword,
Never will I follow or believe in a sinful person
Especially one who won't listen or believe in a sermon.
Then when the interview was through
With a joy and excitement I asked him how did I do,
With a nod he knows what's inside me and all of us
That day, I was having coffee with the Lord Jesus.
