Coin Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Coin

Coin

Had friend; an Arab, Syrian
-both teachers in Sharjah…
-To me, too, was teacher
-and great brother, devotee.
-Was humble and honest…

"Without you…" (meant Iran)
- "…the Arabs could mean none!
-would have lost Arab's tongue! "

He was a ‘born rebel'
-disgusted with Hafez
-Al Assad…
-and counted the murdered
-big numbers, in Hama, Aleppo.

He talked of the word "Sheikh"
- "…is a man, a learned, an expert, a leader…
-not like dog, child of dog being dog
-and the Sheikhs' being "Sheikh! "

On this base one day "Sheikh",
-was approached by vandal,
- (who for fun, fingered sheikh!)

Elderly rewarded the mischief
-handed him a coin!

All wondered:
- "Why to give Ruffian a coin? "

"To let him have fun in final days,
-and carry with the same wrongdoing;
-see it as blood money! "

Soon, same path, saw Emir;
-a guarded, powerful, wealthy, rich.
-Hooligan did the same and dreamed of coins.
-But he faced the order: "Arrest and behead him! "

I foresee the same for… (cannot name!)
