Collapse Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Collapse

Collapse

Saw a corpse on the road
-no more was a raccoon
-few hairs, some colours
-rolled on it the tires
-and tires, and tires
-and the hairs danced in wind…

Tornadoes of changes, hurricanes
-come to life with collapse
-as smashed the brain of raccoon
-to put end to the life of devil

Observed and came to mind
-Gorbachev's Soviets,
-the collapse and changes
-corrupted head to toe
-were rulers, Kremlin's; Muscovites
-who for long, hid behind lies' mirror
-which, collapse rotated reflecting their faces!

One window showed Lada exported
-and others showed the gold and diamond
-all were sold for peanut and income divided
-among the ex-leaders
- (the same was with new presidents to states)

Ships anchored in Jeddah
-cars reached us in Dubai
-we sold them to Russia

As it was with raccoon's
-spread its flesh and blood
-were hardships of Russia

United were vultures to hunt corpse
-directors of the mines and elsewhere

Gorbachev and Yeltsin to later…
-played parts in great dirty game!
-no one talks of hit-run driver…
-betrayers? Or Reagan? Or Thatcher?
