Collected Kisses; Love Poem by Dakota Ellerton

Collected Kisses; Love

Whats in a kiss,
but the power of love?
A smile shinning so brightly,
the darkest corners are uncovered.

My heart sings at the thought.
Your lips so sweet,
taste delicious on mine.
A grin creeps on my face,
with silent tears.

Words so sweet,
roll off my tongue,
quietly into your right ear.
With eyes so deep,
I could swim in your thoughts,
and see only kindness.

I could grasp your soul,
and let our wings soar.
Collected wounds will fade,
guilt filled tears will dry,
sleepless nights will pass,
words will be forgotten.

Through your eyes,
I see only beauty.
Through mine,
I see only you.

PART II

Perfect in your imperfections,
not a flaw in sight.
In your selfless moments,
you've given all you had,
and kept none.

I admire you.
Like no other,
you breathe for their sake.

How much suffering can one man take,
before he starts to crumble?
Would you let me be the foundation?
You protect me from the harsher things,
and love me just the same.

To you i'd never lie.
You keep me warm,
and make me smile.

This is the love you offer me,
and the love you've always given.
The love I hope to never fade.

What do I do for you?
Do I protect you,
and keep you warm?
Surely you know I'd come if you needed me.

Do I chase your nightmares away?
What kind of love,
have I given you?
