Colours Of Life Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Colours Of Life

Rating: 5.0

Why don't the youths
Believe the truth
The great heroes-
Of the glorious past
The patriotic streak
Up next, the grand affairs?

Boasting of colour bias
Mission modes saying-
No violence please
Let prevail, the peace
Especially-
Gangsters when preach
The colours of life-
Through student politics
Or mobsters vote-bank
Or the hooligan-culture.

It's hard to recognise
A wolf in lamb's clothing
Naming student-unions
After slain gangsters-
Sermonizing women-safety
Drug-free environment
Vis-à-vis help of the poor.

Why don't the youths
Believe the truth
Missing something moral
Behind the dark clouds
Seeking for a date
With elite warriors fake
Coming back with a bang
Honesty fails to perform
Live and creative?

Why don't the youths
Believe the truth-
Talking about love lore-
With foreign ingredients
Boasting of planets and stars
Preaching vague colours of life?
