Come Closer Poem by Mohammad Yousef

Come Closer

By Mohammad A.Yousef

She said,
'Come closer, '
a whisper wrapped in silk,
warm like the sun on a summer afternoon,
yet caught in a breeze,
curious and playful,
like a child chasing shadows.

'Do not touch, '
a warning, a promise,
as if the air between us
held secrets too sweet,
too bright,
to be tainted by fingertips.

The space we share glows,
vibrant, electric,
humming with every heartbeat,
as she sways like a flamingo,
graceful and free,
legs long and delicate,
a dancer on a hidden stage.

Each movement a brushstroke,
painting the air with colors unseen,
a soft invitation to witness,
to feel the rhythm without commitment,
to admire an art that thrives on distance,
where our worlds touch
like tides kissing the shore.

I watch her,
caught between desire
and the weight of respect,
my heart beats louder
than the drum of her dance,
each pulse a reminder
that some songs are meant to be heard,
not held.

She spins,
bright feathers exploding
in a whirlwind of emotion,
each step a story whispered
between the crackle of stars,
between the spaces we dare not cross.
The dance unfolds like a dream,
an echo of sunsets,
of endless twilight skies.

"Come closer, " she insists,
her voice a silver ribbon,
while I linger
in the warmth of her light,
navigating the delicate line
of wanting and waiting,
the beauty of desire unclaimed.

Together we weave,
not in touch, but in understanding,
hands open wide,
hearts in full bloom,
a connection spun like silk threads
in a tapestry of grace,
the flamingo dance,
an eternal ballet
dancing through time.
