Come Play Little Girl Poem by Nancy A. Waters

Come Play Little Girl

Rating: 4.0

You said "Come with me my little girl"
As you reached down and touched my pretty curl

I was so very happy to be with you
But I never really knew what you planned to do

You said I was pretty and that you loved only me
You touched me and held me and wouldn't let me be

I trusted and loved you with all my heart
But little did I know that this was just the start

You took me and hurt me this man that I loved
As I laid very still and stared at the ceiling above

I cried and I hurt but I couldn't figure out
Just what I had done to bring this all about

That was so many years ago
You repeated it often but no one was to know

I changed so much as you took me for yourself
It was as if you placed my life on a shelf

But now I realize all that was done
So like a rebirth my life has just begun.
