Comet's Descent Poem by Renu Kakkar

Comet's Descent

Leaving behind it's brethren,
In a beam of light on the horizon,
It seeks a new beginning,
It descends to be an Earthling.

A hue of colours he sees,
Fragrances of flowers he feels,
His heartstrings the Earth pulls,
He feels it is heaven that calls.

Soon the mundane takes over,
Dust and smoke seems like forever,
The sky is too far and too small,
To take a leap it will undoubtedly fall.

Nations are against each other, Like big fish eat the little fish,
It wants to return to his space,
But every mighty leap is not enough.

Return to his space is not easy,
Rising upwards, calls for more energy,
Falling is accomplished easily, but rising takes its toll definitely.
