Coming Down Poem by Alyssa Siebers

Coming Down

This life isn't so hard, it's us that makes it complicated.
we extended our knowledge of science too far,
we've created whats suppose to stay hidden,
we've turned love into a myth
we've turned friendship into a giant laugh,
Honesty is the one thing scientists forgot to make,
There isn't a hard road to take,
There's no hard choices except the right ones,
I can say out of it all, my mother is enough,
I've played a fine part in Act One of a love story gone wrong,
To say I'm fine with solitude, is one of the greatest achievements I've accomplished,
I have no more room for foolish things I'm not ready for,
I'll stay smarter than the rest, who will try out the part,
I won't lie no more, love is always on my mind,
Don't get it confused, You have the wrong definition, love, not infatuation,
I'm talking about the regret, the longing and everything.
what about the happiness?
like I said, life is easy, we are the ones who make it complicated.
I know now you'll never come home,
so I'll move into a new one,
I'm creating a life with a new voice, where you had been my microphone..
It could be so easy to move on, if it didn't feel so wrong.
I'm finally coming down to earth,
I've experienced way too much,
Spread my knowledge like you told me too,
But nobody listens,
Like you predicted,
I guess I understand now, I understand now
But when I look to the shape of my heart it's only shaped by the scars,
The past has left me,
But I give thanks to all that I have learned.
Learning where I've been walking was the wrong step,
Listening to what society tells you will only leads you walking with the rest, lifeless and blind,
Make your heart grow and glow,
For if you continue to fool yourself,
You'll only be sad and blue, unwilling to grow.
Take a different path for once, and you'll notice,
Notice the differentiates in life.
Only then will you see the sun, shinning through.
