Coming Home Poem by Adams King

Coming Home

Rating: 4.0

I left with much love the better part of you
Trampled upon your heart
Broke you pieces to dusted powders

Like a prodigal lover I squandered feelings
On disguised daughters of whores
I have sinned against love and against you

I left with steps faster than the ghost air
Now I crawl like a sluggish snail
My shells are too hard and heavy to bare

When the outer world becomes cruel
A man remembers his home
Where love are never bought but derived

I made your sweet heart bitter and sour
I made you cry to an empty eyes
I made you loose faith in love

I have been drenched with much shame
Made the same mistake most lovers made
Seeking the heaven we already dwell

I went to explore the weird and wild
The world beyond the walls we built
If I will seek a better love than yours

I searched in vain and I'm back in pains
Begging for the crown I once wore
Humbled to my very own soul

I have retraced my steps back home
Where you shed your salty tears
Bled from your bruised and broken heart

I took for granted you treasurable love
Priceless pleasures you offered in platters
I misused your feelings for me

I'm back home to make right my wrongs
Correct the mistakes I have done
And amend the angels heart I once broke
