I broke her heart
Because from the start
I couldn’t say
“I Love You”
My heart went to her
Of this I swear
But the burden I bear
Is not fair to her
She knew little of me
That I couldn’t be free
Because you see
I have a life long friend
Whose life may soon end
And I can’t pretend
To love another
