Comrades Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Comrades

Comrades

Some words are on their own
-no need to look them up;
-they have bags to store
-far beyond expected
-as a word in meaning.
-One of such is "Comrade"

When I read a poem
-by "Claude", the "McKay"
-I fell for the Title:
- "Comrades Four"

It told me of feelings
-either a communist
-or having sympathy

So, I searched and followed
-and found the:
-'Soviet Russia and the Negro'
-An Essay by McKay

Like Andes' Reynaga
-descendant of Tomas
-Catari; (an Inca)
-lost, oppressed, sacrificed
-have been the poor "Slaves"

Some turned to be famous
-as became "Fredrik Douglas",
-and Moses, also the Luther King
-as well as Malcolm X
-Mohammad Ali, or Kelly

All after respect and dream of
-life with hope, equal, liberty

Theories are all wrung
-to ladders to climb
-out of wells and darkness
-to sky…freedom

Comrade and Tavarish
-are two words, to me, ring
