Concerned Grandpa Poem by Robert Stewart

Concerned Grandpa

Rating: 5.0

I don't know what happened as the years have gone by.
What was wrong back then, is now okay to try.
We justify the wrong as much as we can,
when we know in our hearts it ought to be banned.
Sex on TV and language so bad,
shootings and killings, it's all just so sad.
Kids with no discipline and without any respect,
entitlement to all, is what they expect.
Parents that are failing to show how it's done,
more centered on themselves, and having too much fun.
Our kids are our future with the decisions that they make.
We should set the example, before it's too late.
May dad used to say, "this country is going to hell."
Now I feel the same, with what's going on now.
Not all kids are bad, I know this is true.
But, what chance do they have with what they can now view?
So, let's teach our kids the right from the wrong,
so there lives will be better, after we're all gone.
