My thozhi said, ‘your Swayamvaram
shall be more colourful and memorable
for you are the ‘real' Rajakumari
not a foster princess like Sita!
Anger raged in my heart at her silly talk;
if it was not the auspicious occasion
I would have kicked her out of the palace
or maybe out of the country itself.
But I was sure that my Swayamvaram
called for greater celebrations,
I had resolved that I would marry a king
who survives the sharpness of my sword.
