Confessions Of Urmila 07 - A Prayer For My Sister Poem by Unnikrishnan Sivasankara Menon

Confessions Of Urmila 07 - A Prayer For My Sister

Rating: 5.0

I sped to the prayer room
beseeched Mahadev with tears
to bless Ram to string his bow
and win both the contest and Sita.

I thought I heard a silent sob,
lifted my eyes to Sita on her knees
praying, tears flowing down her face,
she fell into my open arms.

We wept in each others arms
for how long we didn't notice
until the palace shook in a loud thunder
‘is it the end of the world? ' I wondered.

Coming out, we met with our thozhis
all beaming and shouting ‘Ram's won! '
"Don't cry anymore, Ram is yours",
I sobbed and Sita hugged me again.
