Conflict Poem by NRUSINGHA MISHRA

Conflict

Two dogs were constantly fighting while I was waching as a witness
Not very sure which one to side with as both appeared to me as my friends
One dog was running wild demanding things asking to give me this and that
The other was docile looking at my face and was cuddling me lying on the mat
One was barking loudly if somebody was passing nearby causing intimidation and fear
Other was walking with confidence and poise keeping watchful eyes on the front and rear
Not sure whom to listen to and closed my eyes to turn inwards to dig in for the answer
Opened my eys, looked above for guidance and found no solace or assuarnce rather stupor
Though hard to get rid of one dog at least so that problems will be significantly ameliorated
This type of indecision compromised my power of judgement gave me pain more aggravated
Started to walk away from the dog dispassionately to the silent dog with rapt attention
Felt the barking dog power of distraction and disturbing my attetnion was in dimunition
Looked deep into the eyes of the dog lovingly caressing my body and enjoying the moment
Received profound joy with a hope that conflict is over and this is going to be permamnent
