Conquest Diary Poem by Sarah Elizabeth Clark

Conquest Diary

I could catalogue my conquests
As if I bought instead of sold
And give them each a number
Or place them all on hold

I could put them all on shelves
And keep them on display
Or store them in a closet
Just file them away

I could consider prices
Then work out every cost
Comparing all the value
To all the sums I lost

I could do some hustling
To strike myself a deal
Then check the market value
To establish the appeal

I could be competitive
Come just to collect
But risk the reputation
Of the business I protect
