Conrad's Thesaurus

From his thesaurus -
Richer-Than-Roget's -
for variety from 'torpor',
'stupefaction' and 'daze',
Conrad plucked 'hebetude'
for his novel 'The Secret Agent'.

A 'blunt' sword
was a 'hebes' one
to a soldier of early Rome.

Much more substantial than mine,
Richer-Than-Roget's
had to have been quite a tome.
