Consider Where We Are In The Universe Poem by Shalom Freedman

Consider Where We Are In The Universe

This single lonely little dot on an insignificant corner of a murky vastness of galaxies
Consider what we are as a species
Unable to speak with others
Consider what we are as a people
After all the trials and achievements
Still needing to fight against so many for our existence
Consider the small families
We cling to in love
Consider each of us
Who will end alone
As all end alone –

The Loneliness is great
The Fear is sometimes greater-

Consider where we are without God
Nowhere and Nothingness Forever-
