Contemporary Road To Happiness

Rating: 5.0

advertising streams
abounds swarms
in every media format
an indoctrination
informing all individuals
each generation target
how gadgets latest
technological purchases
are absolute necessities
required to ensure
sustained contemporary
future continued happiness

gone are days when monks
ritually devoted themselves
to journeys spiritual self
discovery in heightened
moments prayer meditation
cloistered society contemplated
discussed faith thought upon
while most embarked upon
similar self soul exploration
to define existence life awareness
meaning within miracle creation
cosmos canopy beckoning stars

awareness now lost in multi
stimulation techno flash absorbent
mind traps gaming alternative
realities slain in bang bang
kill kill slay slayings or activities
filling empty spaces isolating
games interactive less often played
life rush stress pressure traffic
gridlock mind soul spirit gridlock
suicides plague as isolated minds
fail to compete fall forgotten cry
in mind slashing moment despair

really motive rejection of material
values as a road to happiness
a second chance to survive is
based upon wild roller coaster
ride twisting up down around
in thrilling gravity force bends
somersaults experienced loved
yet rotation acrobatics around
axis emotional joy rides falls
feet head first dances upon string
forwards backwards sideways
executed in air or on firm ground

wild emotion rides crash dive
lazy back ballout cody bail out
body rolls forward or backward
in a complete revolution journey
get off ride into long queues wait
for material ride next entry buy
next slice high-tech happiness oh
so soul embracing tail spin out
time games to fill all empty spaces
escape plans affirm values largely
lost direction coin world took which
left poor destitute homeless behind

diseased starving masses still die
forgotten side shows evictions
elbowed sidelined thrown out
denied ticket entry into paradise
unseen material values pursued
material values luxury exclusive
does not lead to any enlightenment
prosperity happiness or spiritual
harmony shock fall off pedestal
exalted admiration in maze rat race
is wall street jump without cheese
new mind spattering reality check
