When you know you have no other choice than to keep going, looking back
doesn't really help
Other than to remind you of where you've been, how far you've come since
you were a young whelp
Who was overly optimistic and idealistic, something of which you've
been cured in the intervening years
Due to numerous hard knocks, trips on the rocky path, some caused by others, one or two by a few beers
But it's all turned you into the person you are today, with the multi-faceted experience you appreciate
So you try to endure the negative, knowing that it should work out well,
as your circumstances have tended to compensate

Indeed, we must learn to take the unpleasant and pleasant past experiences in stride, as we look forward to better future. Faith keeps those that keep the faith. An inspirational poem bristling with insight. Thanks for sharing Kent.
