Coronavirus (Aka 2019-Ncov) Poem by Kenneth Maswabi

From the realm of the unknown
You invaded our land without shooting a single bullet
You conquered the world faster than any other colonialists before you
You do not need a Bible or Quran to get all of us on our knees
You have no technological knowhow
Yet you are a master strategist
Your military tactics surpasses even those of the best Special Forces
You conquered all the superpowers in less than 4 months
You have never attended a single class of mathematics
Or a lesson on geography and mass inoculations
Yet you know exactly where each and every one of us is at
You are teaching our scientists the basics of public health
We are now washing our hands often and doing social distancing
You have no regard for our established economic policies
Halting almost all economic activities
You are the ultimate chaos maker
You have even taught our politicians to eat humble pie
They have given back the power to the people
For the first time in history
They are encouraging us to stay home
In some countries there are even pledging to pay people for staying home
It is a new reality for all of us
We have never had such power coming from outside our political institutions
Some of us are now preaching the "end of times" gospel
Of course it's all rubbish
But we will go ahead and pray
Preparing ourselves for a new world order
When you have been inaugurated the president of the whole world
You are teaching us epidemiology and spirituality in one class
And we are eager to learn from your masterclass
You have shown even the most hardened atheist the power of the unknown
And for that you will forever be in our spirituality, history and science books
We will learn your ways and we will not forget
Hopefully we will learn to Love each other in the process
And to respect and care for each other
