Could'Ve Been Poem by Courtney Casebolt

Could'Ve Been

Phone attached to my ear
As the snow fell softly on the ground
I wanted you here
But you’re nowhere to be found
She took you away so easily
So now you’re not around
I thought I was your every thing
But then I see, she’s with you
It could’ve been me and you
But now we’re both singing the blues
You could’ve been a part of me
But I can see you’re not that lonely
Could’ve been so right
But you can’t hold me close tonight
Do you ever think about what could’ve been?
Our chance is now so gone
It doesn’t matter I still miss you
I wake up next to someone else but I still feel alone
It could’ve been you and me
But she’s the one meeting your family
Could’ve been great
Do you still call it a mistake?
Come on tell me you think about what could’ve been
Could I ever fit in your arms?
And feel your warm embrace
Maybe kiss your face and look into your eyes
Would you promise to never lie?
Could you hold me and not be ashamed?
Don’t let go
All the things that could’ve been
