Counterfeit Story Unmasked Poem by Jabulani Mzinyathi

Counterfeit Story Unmasked

Rating: 5.0

toss out the counterfeit coin
for it is just hogwash

aim bayonet thrusts
at the tyrant's mistress's belly

let the entrails hang out
that the world may learn

expose the shameless propaganda
redeem the generations from lies

tell the story of the mean machine
that mean, military machine-zipra

tell of the hunting of men and women
and the distortion of that story

tell now the total story
of those deaths in zambia and mozambique

return the missing hymn book
that Mafela Trust may sing

tell now the story of the chaff
the likening of people to chaff

the charade of arms caches
the prelude to the destruction of NITRAM HOLDINGS

outwitted by those razor sharp agents
then peddling lies about big Josh

though objectivity be a goal elusive
talk of the liberating collective effort

the zipras were there in the trenches
heal now this wounded nation

exorcise those ghosts of lies
that the future may be bright
