'Covid-19' Poem by Pushpinder Kaur

'Covid-19'

COVID-19

Time will ebb and flow
The Covid-19 will one day go
It's a test of time
That challenges each out of grime

Pandemic… epidemic… and endemic
Have mapped the annals of history in all its panoramic
The black death, plague and the Swine flu
To recall a few…

Truckloads of the dead
Have overtaken Italy overhead
The heart moans
And the mind struggles and bemoans…

Civilization stands challenged
Every person and home threatened
The medical systems stand beckoned
What to do when life is deadened?

Food shelves wiped empty
Human greed flares up plenty
Masks, gloves and aprons…
Time to come together and waken

For some…all this is still a hoax
"More people died of the flu and pox! "
Ask the families that howl and cry
Told to keep off their dead and comply

When children are quarantined,
Within boundaries enshrined
Treated like refugees
to keep at bay the elegy

Time will ebb and flow
The Covid-19 will one day go!
