Covid Blues Poem by John Carter Brown

Covid Blues

COVID BLUES

I had a walk around the block this morning
and wrote a little song along the way
it may not be the best one ever written
but I think that it will brighten up your day

and maybe if you're round the block yourself like
wouldn't it be nice if we could meet
share the song and sing along together
do our best to give the folks a treat

So, everybody do yourselves a favour
and sing this little song with us today
and even if it doesn't make you braver
it will help to keep the covid blues away.

Now do your best be off with all your wailing
misery loves company don't you know
you and I can sing a song to show them
that there really is no need for feeling low

So don't lay idle in your bed this morning
the clouds have gone the sun is shining through
the people round the block are trying to make it
and if they don't there'll be a hell of a hullabaloo.

So, everybody do yourselves a favour
and sing this little song with us today
and even if it doesn't make you braver
it will help to keep the covid blues away
