Covid Deaths Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Covid Deaths

When I die, I know it
There will be none by my side,
I shall be all alone
Without the relatives,
Kith and kin, near and dear.

I do not need anyone
To perform the funeral rites
Nor to repent for,
Where have you the time,
Where have I the time

To let you know about
As am in a huff to go
And have to go but all alone,
The body will be consigned to
But who will, I can't say that.

To pass away from here,
Out of sight is
The name of this life
As I cannot about the situations
And times of life given then.

What it in ceremonies, functions
Maintaining of rites and rituals,
What in feasts and gifts and donations,
In dana, dharma, papa-punya,
If I not, nothing is herein.

There will be none with you
Not even your own,
Nor will they be allowed to serve
And see you so commonly
Even if you pass away.

Who is your own,
Who not,
How to say that,
Who will be by your side
During the last time?
