Cracked Buddha Poem by Greg Gaul

Cracked Buddha

Rating: 5.0

Long, long ago Thai monks covered up
a golden Buddha in clay to hide it
from marauding armies and their greed.

It had been forgotten until recent years:
overlooked by invaders, ending all fears,
until monks saw through a single dried crack
seeing the shining statue safe and intact.

So the monks continued chipping away
revealing the Golden Buddha of Sukotai.
Let your spiritual journey begin
by finding your Buddhanature within.

Your hidden power can change so much:
unleash your passion, let souls touch.
For all your hopes once unspoken,
crack your Buddhaself wide open.
