Crawling To The Future Poem by Namukolo Covic

Crawling To The Future

I suffered and endured for many years
And I finally decided to leave
I packed a small bag and left
He told me I would crawl back

But all that abuse
No, oh no - Oh no!
I decided to crawl to the future instead
The future I could determine

You stranger far away had your own troubles
You decided to crawl to your future too

Our two futures met
What a beautiful future for you and me
A beautiful future for our children
You and I crawled to the future

We crawled to the future
Oh what a beautiful future
For you and me
For you and me
