Creating Poem by Ray Hansell

Creating

I like to take some words
Arrange them all around
Until I can find
That special rhyming sound

Sometimes it's very easy
Sometimes it's difficult
Writing about how I feel
Or remembering how I once felt

Choosing the right words
At times can be a challenge
But I always persevere
Trying to find a balance

I sometimes jot down notes
As I go through my day
Because if I don't
A thought may slip away

It can be very rewarding
When I read my finished work
But some peoples comments
Can leave you feeling hurt

I post them on Poem Hunter
To get some feedback
But sometimes all I get
Are people making wise cracks

What took me time to create
People tear apart in seconds
Their very unkind words
They seem to use like weapons

They care not about someone's feelings
They insult and criticize
If they don't like what they read
They use words to paralyze

I do not mind criticism
As long as it's constructive
I do not like when people try
To be so destructive

But I truly have to say
Negative words never discourage me
I always keep pushing on to write
The vision my minds eye can see

So, I honestly believe
You can't let negativity
Every get in the way
Of your creativity
