Creations Of Wonder! Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Her luring smiles and glimpses vouchsafed
that she loved him beyond a shadow of a doubt.
When he entered her house with gifts of wonder,
She embraced him and yelled for help.
Some hoons and goons poured in and hit him hard,
seized his valuables and threw him out to go away.

His gentle manners and the snacks he brought
to her child made her wonder at her liberal neighbour.
She was on cloud nine when he rained kisses on her child.
She dared to cross over from the placid sea
into a violent ocean where his first two wives
welcomed her with a with a touch of sarcasm:
" Girls with education too are blind in this world".

God creates better beings in his best moments!
The women in villages live with their men
share all the hunger and joy in life with them.
They don't leave the family when their men are
disabled, sick or impotent blaming their own fate.
They pray to god to take away their life
before their husbands caught in the noose of death.
