Crimson Angel Wings Poem by Dakota Ellerton

Crimson Angel Wings

Rating: 5.0

A black shadow,
cowers over my soul.
Preparing to devour what little purity I have left.
Naked flesh is seen as a sin.
I am a sinner.
Blood drips from my eyes,
the deeper it sinks into my spine.
I can make no promises,
that I’ll make it through this.
It penetrates deeper into my subconcious,
my eyes are fogging over to a sightless black.
My perception has changed,
I see only suffering and death.
With needles for fingers,
this creature is picking at my mind.
‘I promise to love you’,
it says.
‘I promise to take care of you’,
it lies.
I could enjoy this illusion awhile longer, can’t I?
If I stay this way too long though…
I reach for the knife,
and cut the black wings sprouting from my back.
I reach into my chest and pluck the heart,
coloured a crimson black.
I won’t be able to walk away from this.
The hatred has seeded to deep,
the roots entwined into myself.
I’m the angel of pain.
