Crimson Bands Poem by Dakota Ellerton

Crimson Bands

The moon dripping from the sky,
as I slowly lose grip on the reality man has made for me.
His eyes, those inpenitrable eyes, shine through a crimson night.
His skin melted to mine, so infinite, chaotic, desirable.
Two bands striken to our hearts,
as if to never leave our sides.
Oh, when you are safe, I am safe.
You love to the ends of time in a nothing surrendered World,
and for you I pray as I wish someone had for me, then.
With an absolute memory of honesty clouded around our bodies,
as our lips gently press,
as the wind echos through the trees,
as the black cat crept from the picket fence.
Time itself has returned in our favor, the loyalty I need not redeem.
I embrace your ears with the words I could never fib,
love and lie so familiar to us.
Our marriage proposals tighten to our throats,
with sweaty palms, and cold feet, we pull on our socks and walk down the isle.
It’s definite.
