Crossing Life's Road Poem by Sebastian Melmoth

Crossing Life's Road

Rating: 5.0

Pavements of life align the river of road that lays in between

Like a bolt out the blue you realise you're the wrong side of life's road

Staring the distance to brighter days the haunting crossing that lays ahead to get to the other side

The simplistic task embroiled in danger flowing along blood stained tarmac of those who had failed in the journey before

Cars symbolic of life's obstacles that present themselves driving towards us at speed with headlights of fear on full power

Waiting, thinking, using our thoughts to map out which route we will eventually take

Then we look around seeing fellow souls standing next to us blinded in the same mission

Realisation that we are not alone in this journey to Elysium's pavement

Making connections with kindred travellers' strength in numbers building confidence of being

We join hands with those creatures lost and alone to make our way, each step taken, a step forward, a goal achieved

The other side of the road the destination no longer a dream no longer out of reach

Support in unspoken conscious troubles shared motivate to the side of the road we want to be.
