Crossroads Poem by KIMBERLY FINE

Crossroads

Rating: 4.8

I'm lost...unsure which direction to take,
there are three different ways I could choose.
Each way has a desirable allure,
only one way to pick...if wrong...I lose.

The first I move forward with what I have now,
it seems to me the best choice and probably most wise.
He is my best friend and true to the end,
I feel if it’s him I decide my heart would suffer its demise.

Next is what I have had once before,
it matters not the pain and tears he lead me to endure.
So crazy in love with him I could see no wrong,
should I chance my heart and will I feel secure?

Last and least the one to run from,
he's the man I can not be with or even call my own.
Only passion and lust with dreams of what once was,
still kindle the flames in my heart that'll never be home.

So here I stand in the most awkward of queries,
only one choice to make and not one strong clue.
If only it was possible to just close my eyes,
make one simple wish and know just what to do....

Who was always there for you, no matter what? Nobody ever seem to understand the sacrifice and leave it all saying we had a good time.
