Crucifix Poem by Joshua Manis

Crucifix

Hung on a string
Like my God from a noose...
Around my neck
You call Him my fashion statement
I call him my Savior
I bear my empty cross
Nailed to my throat
Like a man to a tree
I see my empty cross
and the parody-
of the heart inside of me.
