Crucifixion - Poem by Ranjith Wijekoon

Carrying the cross
To the top of Calvary
Was a humiliation enough
To compensate for
The sin of loving unconditionally
Crucifying on the
Coarse dry log
Was a punishment enough
To compensate for
the sin of speaking the truth

Yet
people didn’t stop
throwing insults at him
throwing stones at him
ignorance! ! !

A compassionate poem and the poet knows well the weight of the cross. (Report)Reply
