O cruel universe! how you gave me my dream,
So sweet and promising!
I supped on nectar from those wishing stars,
and held my hopes up high.
You blessed me and the road seemed clear,
accept for the dark stranger,
the hazy figure of uncertainy drawing near.
My mind once pure light now turns dull,
and clouds with a lessened faith,
I know what I want but you tell me what I need,
but what now, if I disagree?
You play me, a puppet on a silken string,
to help or hinder I know not,
only he can tell, the one who controls the clock,
so I renew my trust, as all I can do,
to be with the endless tide or slowly drown,
O cruel universe! Please be gentle with this dream,
mine life its yours, I know not all is what it seems.
