Cruel World Poem by jason mcgookin

Cruel World

Rating: 2.5

Good bye cruel world, I’m leaving you soon
Floating from consciousness, to darkness and back
Is it the start of something else? My body just a cocoon
But the pain at the moment brings a mood that is black
Hoping it will stop as I take my last breath
Good bye cruel world, hello darkness
This feels beautiful, is thisdeath?
Nothing I’ve experienced could I tie to this likeness
Floating, flying, soaring high, high
I can see the doctors, fussing around my bed
I’m getting higher, higher, towards the sky
Is this what its like when you’re dead?
CLEAR…SHOCKING, CLEAR…SHOCKING, What the hell
Hello cruel world, i'm here to stay
Well at least for a little while............

I like your use of rhetorical questions, theyre questions we ourselves cant answer!

Jason, Jason... I don't know if darkness is the answer. It's what I run away from every day. And I do hope you find lightness, even if it's a wee glimpse!
