Cry No More Poem by Chanda Chongo

Cry No More

CRY NO MORE

Cry no more my queen.
It breaks my heart to see you queasy,
burnt and tied to sadness.
When light falls prey to darkness
life becomes numb
and grows a lonely infestation.
My mind's imagination
still holds your begoniad pictures
and the muse you belched
when the road leading home became seady.

Queen, your queendom looks crumbled,
scorched and strangled.
What's happened to your benign bistro?
You served our hearts with bliss,
beans and sushi, a taste we felt
dossing down our tummies
before night brought along its cold breeze.

O my dear lady,
wipe off the sadness glowing on your face,
my heart bleeds tears
to see you wet your bossom with icy tears.
Straighten your shiny strands
and wear the finest aroma,
for your beauty will always be an artisan's gift
to whirl in raining hearts.
Cry no more my queen.
