Crying Girl Poem by Felix Otiende

Crying Girl

Owinyo
I have broken mummy's only water pot
Constantly I'm crying in the middle of the night
Because I missed you
Now look at what my fantasy has brought

Why did the wind take you
away Owinyo
I'm a woman who lives in a world full of heartbreaks and shame
No one now understands and cares
Mummy is always tormenting me with anger and painful words

Today she won't spare
Since you left, I have become a laughing stock in the village
Your parents and friends branded me a 'Traitor'
My love I didn't choose to be barren or unfruitful

I believe one day He will open my womb
And I will hold my Samuel
I will never let your name die
Since you are my blessing that never disappoints.
