Cuckoo-Nestlings In Crow's Nest Poem by Saiful Sirnwel

Cuckoo-Nestlings In Crow's Nest

The cuckoo has come to the crow,
But the crow isn't home;
So lays eggs the canny cuckoo
Ah! What a shy roam!

Returning the crow sounds kraa caw--
Oh! Then flies the cuckoo in a flash...
Sitting in the nest the crazy crow
Sees a clutch of eggs' clash.

Perching on the nest the silly crow thinks..
What a bonus I've got!
Sitting away the cuckoo stinks-
What a plot, care a jot!

Days go by, month comes to an end --
Many nestlings Comes out...
So the crow's thought in suspend!
Oh! It's a great bout.

Day by day the flabby chicks
Learn to call kraa caw koo...
But some are acquiring
The call of mother cuckoo!

Crow's nestlings do as crow's cry,
Sounds as caw caw;
Alas! Cuckoo's chicks fly
On the sly leaving the straw.
