i think, i fear, i crawl, i enroll
i am confident i prepare, i get nervous, i regret
i forget which competition it was
was it the debate i ran from or
the play where i forgot my lines
i am on the centerstage
and i think about the time when it was
just me and my virtual image
its worth nothing, i lose
i run but catch my words
this could be the last time
my very last to prove i deserve
i stay, my fellow mates are the ones who
mock, gathering confidence is perhaps the
toughest!
that is when i remember my speech
my very own and the one which i preach
but never practise
yes, it is about confidence, which is
definately lacking in me
but this very own speech
of mine, made me fine
i heard the applaud which was
a mere formality; i had
already got what i deserved.

You have written a poem here about something many of us can relate to, well composed, 10 Lynda x
Sometimes which happens to most of us. It's how you come out of it. Nice achievement, and a nice sincere poem which is easy to relate to........
