Cyanide Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Cyanide

Cyanide

Has faced maltreatment
-sees darkness in the light
-doubtful is most of times
-is correct in his wrongs!

He is old, entangled
In pains and, is sunken
-does not know language
-strange to culture
-swollen his ankle
-sits as does potato
-on the couch; in basket!
-needs help but there is none!
-sent stool to the lab
-possibly has cancer

In trash found paper
-torn to parts, shredded
-carefully looked at it
- took a piece, examined
-saw title, addressed him!

His daughter took the mail
-read and tore, no notice
-not a word to father
-this is yours!

Tired of fucked up life
I asked him for cyanide
He replies as if shouts
-without words
-without sound
-everything is inside

He is sick; is ignored
I suffer; live alone
I insist and beg him:
-let us take last step
-meaning have
-some cyanide
-the pill for suicide!
