Cycles Poem by Ray Hansell

Cycles

When I first heard a song
The singer sounded weary
But then as I listened
I heard things more clearly

His voice was a perfect fit
For the lyrics in the song
As I listened on
His whole day was going wrong

When the song had finished
I was lost for words
For I knew I just listened to
The best song I ever heard

The song was titled "Cycles"
Truly a perfect song
A song one could gain strength from
As their days slowly drags along

Frank Sinatra's version
To me is the best
I've heard other singers sing it
But they don't pass the test
